I am currently thinking that we need to start learning to get out of our comfort zone of being scared in class. If we continue to be scared in class how do you expect to actually learn things inside of class and outside of class. We all know how to learn things if we ask for help. We ask for help outside of class and we are able to do it now without any question, so why cant we do the exact same thing inside the classroom. There is no difference between inside and outside of class, your asking a question you don't know and your asking someone you do. Outside of the class room you would probably look dumb anyways if you asked someone for help. I don't see any difference inside of the classroom. People, especially students, if you don't know anything don't hesitate to ask someone who truly knows the material, because in this case they can help you with something that could benefit you later in your future. We need to be more motivated to do things without other people telling us to do it, when we could just do it ourselves. Self motivation is what everyone needs nowadays, because all we have been getting is being put down and have low self-esteem. With more motivation we could make a difference in a persons life and make them feel like they can actually do something in the world they didn't think was possible at the time. We are all capable of doing so much more than we know. "Theres more to a person that meets the eye". I like this quote because if you look at it in this perspective we all doubt each persons ability to do something they wanted to do for a long time. We would just take a sudden glance at a person and think to ourselves, "this person isn't going to be huge" or " this person is going to be a nobody in the near future". Don't deny it we all look at other people like that as if they can't carve out their life without everyone helping him. I also think that he is completely correct about everything that goes on in our educational system and that it could use some more changing in some ways that can support students to get out of their comfort zone so that they could be more participated in other stuff. Schools have a lot of funding and why not use that funding to make program where students can get out of their comfort zones and become what we all know as "students".
I had some questions i was thinking about and they were:
1) Besides being scared and embarrassed, why do students feel afraid of speaking and raise their hands in class?
2) How come teachers don't do more to motivate our students?
3) Why do teachers assume that the students have no motivation in life, just by the glance of their faces?
