Focusing The Lasers Response

After watching this video I do see some resemblances, like me, I kind of know which direction I want to go but all at the same time I’m not quite sure if I want to go there or not.  To be honest I am having thoughts about once again changing my major.  I never thought that being able to transfer to a 4-year was going to be so hard.  I am now on my second year and I’m not even close into transferring and I’m starting to think that once I’ll be able to transfer would be in 4 years. So now that I think about the video I am more likely a wanderer and explorer.  I’m just taking classes I think would be able to transfer and all that I am doing is like they said, “paying for the classes, buying the books”, that is all I think I am doing right now.  I fit in the wanderers and explorers both at the same time mostly because I know what I want to do as a full time career later in my career as a professional, but at the same time I am just walking around biting my nails and not taking the necessary classes needed for that major to transfer to a 4-year college.

I feel like being a wanderer and an explorer isn’t all that great at all. I mean no one wants to take random classes and not know what major they want to become.  We all want to be set focused on one major and stick to it, but in our current educational system it is very much difficult to do so. Peoples’ passion varies among others and we all have that passion for that certain major, but it is hard to find it among all the clutter in your mind, about probably taking care of family, managing a job and school both at the same time.  It’s very difficult to keep your mind set and keep that burning passion for your major in your mind when you have all those thoughts in your mind.

If I would be able to change categories I would most definitely try to become a laser.  They know what kind of career they want to go to and what kind of class they want to take.  I mean who doesn’t want to be in the laser category.  I bet mostly everyone that is in the other categories wants to go in the laser category, just to see how it is. Knowing which classes to take and what major they want to be in, without having to change it all the time.  Once in the laser category there is no doubt what you are going to become in the future with that major.

I am hoping to change my category by not changing my major.  I was set on going onto electrical engineer until later on in the semester while talking to my councilor that all it is, is just playing around with some electrics and watts.  Then she asked me, “What kind of major do you have second in mind?” then I told her that I’m a hands-on type of person.  So then she suggested that I do mechanical engineering.  Then it struck me that that’s the type of major I want to take and be with as a full-time career.  Then we went through a lot of steps on what kind of classes I should be taking and all that stuff.  Then I got my mind straight.  I was set. Even though my grades from my pass classes wasn’t so good, I told myself that this coming semester was going to be different and I would be studying my butt off to get an “A” or a “B” no matter what.  So overall, I think that once this coming semester finishes and I did really good at it, then I know for sure that there is nothing stopping me from achieving my goal as a mechanical engineer.

My Pros And Cons For Success

To me success means having a family, achieve your dreams, and having no financial worries.  Everyone knows that a family is the first step in a life full of success.  Family can help you through your obstacles you are facing, and they can give you support and would always be there for you no matter what their status is whether they are rich or poor, they would always be there for you.  The next step is being able to achieve your dreams like: having your dream job that you would be able to stick with for the rest of your life to support your family, be able to help other family members when they are in dire need for money to help them with their bills, and being able to provide finances for your children when they go to college and pay for other expenses they may need to have the dream job.  And last but not least, no financial worries.  Everyone worries whether or not they will be able to pay the bills and have their car repossessed, have their house taken away every little thing.  Everyone worries about their finance and where they might be if they aren’t able to pay the bills.

What helps me succeed in my community so far is the support I have from my family and friends.  My family helps me to become successful, more importantly my mom.  She has been taking care of my financial aid and stuff so that I wouldn’t have to worry about it.  But I know that I would have to get into the rhythm of being able to take care of my own financial aid and become my own man.  My friends help me through my stuff as well, because they help me with the classes I should be taking instead of the other classes.  They tell me this and that and I notice that I have been taking classes I didn’t really need until they showed me it.  The only thing that is truly preventing me from succeeding in my community is the transportation and money.  Transportation, I have to keep waking up early, like an hour early before my class starts to take the bus to my class and I arrive only minutes away from class starting.  It gets to me once in a while, but then I notice that I could study while on the bus and I think it’s helping me both ways it benefits and doesn’t benefit me in succeeding in my community.  Money is a little of a concern, because I do have to pay for my books alone and have to pay for my bus fair and my food other than that, that’s it.

Duncanville TX HighSchool

When I first glanced at the video of the guy in the red shoe I didn’t think much about the video, but as he started ranted on the teacher of his/her laziness.  I was flabbergasted on the way he was talking to the teacher.  Like who talks like that to a teacher?  Hardly anyone talks like that to a teacher, because they are afraid of rising up and speak their minds.  When students realize their teacher is lazy they are afraid of what kind of consequences would become of it.  When he first stood up and saying all those bad words and all that I thought to myself “Dayuum! He got guts!”  I can’t imagine someone doing something like this in front of the class and lecturing the teacher for being lazy at the same time.  When he volunteered to exit the room not because the teacher told him too but on his own free will and offered to come into her class and lecture her again.  I thought to myself, “Finally!”  When will this epidemic of laziness in teachers come to an end, I believe that the way he stood up against this teacher is the seed for something greater in our educational system all around the globe.

Passion: The Secret Ingredient To Success

I think this video relates to passion because everyone has a passion that is very deep inside of their hearts, we just don't know how to get there. In order for us to get there we need to become somewhat self-aware of how we act in current times and become something ourselves as we are now to do something and make a change, even if it’s a small thing.  Although that one small thing could sometimes make a humongous difference in the entire world that could either be negative or positive in the outcome of it, if it were to become something huge. I think that if we were to become a single nation where everyone is truly equal we need to show each and every person that they are not that different to other people in comparison. I have this strive to where I want things to become something different something magnificent that everyone can look upon and say, "dayum this kid worked his butt off to get to where he's at now". That’s the passion I see myself doing and that’s what these figures, and brands that started out as a small timers but is now a big timer that everyone knows.  It's their passion that they carried, that holy torch that made them to who or what they are today.  Without their passion for what they love to do they can't achieve what they truly desire.  The desire for something greater and making a difference in a person’s life or in everyone life is what everyone in the entire world strives to become. The passion to be a key figure to young beings and show them that they can become who they want to be as long as they have passion inside of their hearts, then they can truly achieve greatness. Now I believe that every parents’ is a key figure. The way I see it is that everyone already looks up to others, from people looking at how others dress, the way they walk in and out of the store and asks themselves, "I want to become like that one day." I'm sure every people tell themselves that they want to become something greater, but how much passion do they have to achieve it. Is it too big, too small, or just right? Is it too big of a passion where you lose sight of things, like turn your back on your family that helped you get to where your at. Is it too small where you had that spark but was only able to achieve it half way to where you wanted it to be at. Or is it just right where you can make it to your passion without losing your sight to what matters the most to you or not being able to get there.  Passion can become major in todays’ society and having it "just right" rest assured you are going to get there and make a difference in the world you never knew you could.

Andrade Response

I am currently thinking that we need to start learning to get out of our comfort zone of being scared in class.   If we continue to be scared in class how do you expect to actually learn things inside of class and outside of class.  We all know how to learn things if we ask for help.  We ask for help outside of class and we are able to do it now without any question, so why cant we do the exact same thing inside the classroom.  There is no difference between inside and outside of class, your asking a question you don't know and your asking someone you do. Outside of the class room you would probably look dumb anyways if you asked someone for help. I don't see any difference inside of the classroom.  People, especially students, if you don't know anything don't hesitate to ask someone who truly knows the material, because in this case they can help you with something that could benefit you later in your future.  We need to be more motivated to do things without other people telling us to do it, when we could just do it ourselves.  Self motivation is what everyone needs nowadays, because all we have been getting is being put down and have low self-esteem.  With more motivation we could make a difference in a persons life and make them feel like they can actually do something in the world they didn't think was possible at the time.  We are all capable of doing so much more than we know. "Theres more to a person that meets the eye".  I like this quote because if you look at it in this perspective we all doubt each persons ability to do something they wanted to do for a long time. We would just take a sudden glance at a person and think to ourselves, "this person isn't going to be huge" or " this person is going to be a nobody in the near future".  Don't deny it we all look at other people like that as if they can't carve out their life without everyone helping him. I also think that he is completely correct about everything that goes on in our educational system and that it could use some more changing in some ways that can support students to get out of their comfort zone so that they could be more participated in other stuff.  Schools have a lot of funding and why not use that funding to make program where students can get out of their comfort zones and become what we all know as "students".

I had some questions i was thinking about and they were:

1) Besides being scared and embarrassed, why do students feel afraid of speaking and raise their hands in class?
2) How come teachers don't do more to motivate our students?
3) Why do teachers assume that the students have no motivation in life, just by the glance of their faces?
